Under the hot lights

Okay – I’m no studio portrait expert… so consider that your disclaimer, in advance.

HOWEVER, I have a small obsession with damask and similar floran patterns and when i finally found what I was looking for, it had to come together!

If you haven’t seen her in the past, meet Rayin (name only used because Mom has used it on the blog – I’m good about that!).  Her momma (one of those cousins down the line thing with my moms side) Kelly needs to find the girl an agent – isn’t she SPECTACULAR?!

Tooth fairy came not so long ago for her, but afraid to bear the smile – she is not.

The “sweet” theme fell through when I went (like a bonehead) and hung up my wall hangings.  However, I’m looking to offer “All The Pretty Faces” as a quick mini coming up!  A simple set of a few full shots and mostly headshots with storyboard framing options and specials.  I find I need to learn to control my depth of field (DOF) a little better – as moving in for a headshot put the background out of focus (that blur everyone loves in outdoor photos) and with a pattern, it makes the white/brown blend togehter and create a cream – and side by side, they don’t really “flow” per se.  But, HELLO – at this point, Rayin’s a sparkler and the DOF issue falls away for me… I suppose =)

Anyway, before I schedule this mini – I’m going to have to see if it draws any interest. If you’d be interested in this, feel free to drop me a line – I’m really excited for it!!  Babies and children only please.  The setup won’t allow for families or groups!

I took some of my cranky K. the other day (really, who can  blame her) but she wasn’t too into it. I will have to post a few of her too!  Thanks, Kelly, for letting me borrow your doll for a half hour.  I appreciate it!

My shoulder is sore from my jog/squirrell chasing session with E. yesterday. The jolts of a jog step didn’t do much for my healing fracture. Oh my.

Brisk walking it may be, for a while.

Have an awesome weekend! Loads of sessions coming up  -  I hope our weather hangs on!

(I’m nervous about the reception of “me” and “studio” – if you like it, please, drop a line!)

Rach - I think it looks great Dani. It’s hard to get use to “you” and “studio” in the same sentence. But there’s always some people out there who truly love studio portraits. Can’t wait to see what you line up for Car tomorrow!

Trisch - Oh, you know I have a soft spot in my heart for damask.
